“Not all wounds are visible…”
Post Traumatic Stress
Disorder or PTSD Awareness Day is observed on 27 June every year. PTSD is a
condition that is suffered by many veterans and non-veterans & the effort
on PTSD Awareness day mostly originates from veterans’ organization. However,
it’s not mandatory for you to be a military member to experience PTSD.
It is a tendency of the
human mind to always react to some traumatic experience. Either your sleep gets
affected or you have traumatic memories that bother you. For some people
counseling does help to overcome this situation, however, for others, they
don’t even receive the necessary help they should get to overcome this stress. PTSD
Awareness Day is celebrated to help those people for whom a traumatic
experience becomes a post-traumatic stress disorder.
PTSD Awareness Day is
celebrated by encouraging people to openly talk about PTSD, its symptoms,
causes and most importantly how to get help for the condition. For many people
who aren't even aware of what PTSD is or misunderstand this condition, PTSD
Awareness Day makes an effort to inform them about it. Circulars, articles
& other materials are published by the Department of Defense to educate
military members and their families about PTSD.
Different therapists
build care protocols on PTSD Awareness Day to focus on your needs at large. They
provide medication-assisted therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive
behavioral theory and many more to help you release your stress. These are
awesome ways by which you can forget your trauma and immerse into a supportive,
healing and positive environment.
Hence on this PTSD
Awareness Day come closer to gather more knowledge about what PTSD is, spread
the knowledge and promote PTSD awareness via different social media platforms
and help those who are in need of it.
