World Population Day 2019



Focus on Healthcare and Reproductive awareness
One of the most important awareness days, World Population Day is celebrated every year on 11 July, internationally, to increase awareness about the facts and issues of reproductive health and global population. World Population Day was established in the year 1989 by the council of United Development Program (UNDP). Earlier during the time when the world population has reached almost to 5 billion, this special awareness day came along and became a serious concern of the excessive population of the world.

The theme for World Population Day 2019 “Focus on Healthcare and Reproduction Awareness” will be paying attention to the reproductive health problems of the world’s population because it is the major cause for ill health as well as the death of the pregnant women all over the world. Moreover, it tries to focus on the attention of the world on the importance of population issues. From a study, it has been found that daily about 800 women all over the world are dying in the procedure of giving birth. The slogan for the World Population Day aims at increasing the knowledge of the people worldwide towards family planning and reproductive health.

According to statistics, about 1.8 billion youngsters are going to enter their reproductive years and it is of utmost importance to call their attention towards reproductive health. Thus the objective of the World Population Day is to:
·     Educate and encourage the world to take part in different events like maternal health, world population issues, etc.

·            Educate youths to use friendly measures to avoid unwanted pregnancy.
·           Educate the world about health and pregnancy-related issues to increase the awareness of the public and to reduce dangers of early childbirth.
·          To ensure easy access of reproductive health services worldwide.
