Recently, an outburst of the coronavirus has become a big global concern. It came from Wuhan
in China and has spread from meat and seafood. Three types of coronavirus have
been discovered recently: SARS virus or Severe
Acute Respiratory Syndrome Virus, MERS virus or Middle East respiratory syndrome
virus, and COVID-19 or coronavirus disease 2019. The first
report of the disease was in southern China and then the COVID-19 virus has spread
in 70 locations all over China. The disease has also spread internationally in
Washington State, New York, Oregon, and California.
Coronavirus Diagnosis
In case any person is believed to have been infected
by a coronavirus, then the suspected
individual must need to do some test to ensure coronavirus positive. Some
symptoms of coronavirus involve:
● Shortness of breath
● Cough
● Fever
● Headache
● Sore throat
COVID-19 is milder than SARS and MERS. COVID-19
symptoms include:
● Shortness of breath
● Fever
● Cough
A long time exposer of this virus may cause
Bronchitis or severe pneumonia. The suspected person may be diagnosed with some
lab tests instructed by CDC or the local healthcare department.
There are a few ways to collect a sample for testing:
● Blood Test: A health care professional takes a
blood sample and send it for lab testing.
● Swab Test: Swab sample is collected form throat
and nose and the test will be performed for COVID-19.
● Tracheal Aspirate: The health care professional
put a thin light tube called a bronchoscope into the patient’s mouth and then
into the lung and the sample is collected from there.
● Nasal Aspirate: a saline solution will be
injected to the patient nose and after that, the sample removes with general
suction.
● Sputum Test: Sputum is collected from the
patient’s cough or a swab is taken from the nose.
All these samples are tested at any CDC approved lab
throughout the country.
Coronavirus Treatment
Still, now no
vaccination or no treatment method is discovered for COVID-19. If the above
mention symptoms are seen then immediately consult a healthcare professional.
If such a person is tested positive then the patient must have to follow some
basic steps for treatment of coronavirus:
●
Intake a good amount of fluids
●
Take rest as much as possible
●
Take the medicines prescribed by
your respected doctor or health care professional.
The patient may
need to go to hospital f the symptoms get worsen or develop the symptoms of
bronchitis, pneumonia, tremendous breathing problem, heavy cough, and a
long-lasting high fever.
How long does Coronavirus Last
The estimated incubation period of coronavirus lying between 2-14 days. According to the
World Health Organization, most of the people are developing their symptoms
about five days after infection. A recent analysis shows that often it can take
24 days to generate symptoms.
Coronavirus Prevention
Coronavirus is
a highly infectious disease, that’s why CDC has recommended everyday prevention
to stop spreading this respiratory disease and save others to be the next
target. There is some safety action including:
●
Try to avoid close contact with
infected people.

vaccine or no treatment procedure is discovered to stop spreading this novel
virus but we can decrease the rate of an outburst of coronavirus. Just to
follow some safety methods, we can generate a huge awareness in our community
and save so many lives.
